Scope: DVD Box Set
This collateral was designed as a DVD Box set for the program, Nature, which broadcasts on PBS. I incorporated a natural looking color palette, using warm earth tones, such as moss green, water blue, dirt brown, and leaf yellow to imply and create a natural feeling. Inside the DVD holder, an organic leaf paper was added as an extra design element to further connect to nature. There is a book-let inside describing the history of PBS and informing viewers of the content on the DVD’s. As a surprise element to purchasers of the set, I have included a free postcard, hoping to gain more publicity by traveling through the mail system. All of the images that are included in the design are plants and animals featured in the documentary. The current logo being used is a simple typographic logo with a tree set off by a sunset image. I decided to redesign the logo to incorporate animals. The concept was to draw stylized animals that could be embedded into the letters of the program name, playing with the negative space and forms of the letters.
